Door rebuild - what to lube

door rebuild. Thinking a bit of silicone spray on the rubber tracks and that spiked looking thing.

Maybe spray glue some reflectix sheets inside door to deaden sound.

    Anything else?

    sideways pics, sorry.

Definitely hit that rusty door lock assembly with white lithium grease.

I would suggest removing the lock and giving it a good cleaning with a brush. It takes 10 seconds to pull it out. Keep in mind that there is about 30 years of dirt build-up on it. A clean part will work much smoother than a dirty part. Blasting lube on everything can attract more dirt. If you choose to lube every moving part inside the door, lube sparingly.

Since my doors have manual windows and locks, I sprayed a good degreaser on everything inside the door and pressure washed it...all of it. I washed everything while the window was up, and then again with the window down. Make sure that the weep holes are clear of debris, so the water can drain quickly and easily.

If you have power windows/locks/mirrors in the door, pressure washing may NOT be the best option for you.

I installed sound-deadening material after wiping the inside of the doors with alcohol. There is not a lot of surface area that can be accessed easily to install it, especially if you are using the roller tool to install it properly. I was only able to put it onto about half of the door, using multiple smaller pieces. If you remove the glass, you can access more of the door to install more sound-deadening material.
