    Tail Light Fuse Blowing

I've got an 88 4WD that has started blowing the tail light fuse immediately when you switch the lights on. I've checked all the tail light bulbs etc and found no problems. It'll also blow that fuse with both tail light assemblies disconnected. The reverse / license plate bulbs also seem fine. So, other than starting to hunt in the dash light circuit for a fault does anyone know of other common things that fail in the Tail light / illumination circuit?

    Thanks.

Check the wiring inside the bellows at the top of the rear hatch. This is a common place for chafing. Make sure to check several inches of wire on both sides of it too.
