    Rear brakes for JDM vans

I'm planning to replace the rear brakes in my '89 Master Ace at some point and wanted to ask if anyone knows what the correct replacement parts are. Rockauto has some shoes and the hardware kit available for the similar year VAN but I have heard the rear brakes are different for some reason in the JDM version.

I could of course go take the wheel off and try to find the part numbers but does anyone know what parts for sure fit before I do that?

    Thanks!

    flinters17,

welcome to the forum, is your MasterAce a 2WD or 4WD and gas or diesel? Have a look at the Diesel section of the forum under "part numbers" and theres a few posts that may help.

Also that's a great link that Andywear attached in his post.

Heres a few links that'll help you as well-

Thanks for the helpful info JDM VANMAN! It looks like this will keep me busy for a while.

I have the 4WD gas model. It's a fun little van! Can't wait to tinker around under the 'hood' and see if I can't get the MPG into the 20's.

I see you are in Seattle. Maybe I've seen you on the roads, I'm in the Wallingford area.

No problem, being that your van is gas you may be in luck and it'll have the same rear brakes as the USDM vans. I'm usually not around the Wallingford area, just up and down the I5 corridor to work and back.
