How to look/search for a Toyota Van body part

Since I damaged my corner signal light/lens, can anyone guide me to places/sites to actually even look for this part? I have the number but besides just plugging in the part number on eBay or Google are there some better ways to find body parts? I thought I found one in Japan but they’re saying they can’t ship it to my address (even tho they say they ship worldwide.) 🤷

Thanks for any help or advice!

The price is insane imho, but this guy has two:
If you search on ebay for
87-89 OEM Toyota HiAce Van YH51 Koito corner light lamp lens assembly 28-27 R DV”

thank you SO MUCH! 🙏. Considering it’s almost impossible to find, I’m willing to pay that. I can’t stand to have my van less than ”perfect.” As perfect as an older vehicle can be.

I appreciate your guidance. I never would’ve looked under those terms.

You can enter your vehicle details in your ebay ‘garage’. Then look for the category of parts, and filter for your vehicle. Thats how I found these.

If you have any "Pick and Pull" style junkyards around you, these will probably be about $20, but finding one in good condition can take some waiting and checking. I've seen plenty that are "ok" (scratches, light cracks) but it's hard to find one that's "perfect".

Thanks for the replies! I will definitely use the advice for eBay as I think I already have the van entered but didn’t know about the ability to just search for that vehicle’s parts. 👍

With the help of the wizard, Master Tim - he sent me a link on eBay for a pretty good one for $50 with shipping. Supposedly has a small crack in front but I can live with that, rather than pay quadruple that.

I really appreciate all the help and suggestions! 🙏 The constant worry about finding parts is getting to me. I love this van so much and it’s in great condition but things are just going to need repairing at times and worrying about not being able to fix things is frustrating. I can’t think of a better vehicle to use for camping and traveling solo.

I had to get a new brake master cylinder last fall and my mechanic found that ok but they couldn’t find a new power brake booster nor the parts to rebuild mine. They did have a guy look at it tho and he decided that no brake fluid had gotten in to it so assumed it was still good.

I have another question about the cooling system but better start a new thread I guess.

    thanks again!

used auto parts.com has a network of wrecking yards all over the US. You type in your make & model, & what part your looking for. And it might pull up 10 more yards that have a simular vehicle. They go out and verify the part & its condition. Then cost it out including freight. The different yard will very with cost & shipping so check 2 or 3 places before making a choice.
