TPS Feeler Gauge Test-0.57mm???
I've successfully set a Throttle Position Sensor on an '86 2wd in the past following Tim's very excellent video and using forum advice...And a feeler gauge of .028 inches/0.70mm.
Now doing the same for an '89 4wd...Which should not make a difference.
I was surprised to see that my official 1984 Toyota manual (don't have the '89 manual), and the Chilton 83-90 Van manual indicate that a .57mm (.0224 in.) feeler gauge should be used in the throttle stop to test for continuity between IDL and E1 (IDL and TL in the '84 Toyota manual).
Now...It was hard to tell for sure because the camera was moving fast, but it looked like Tim was using an official Toyota Service manual. And it called for the .028in/.70mm feeler gauge.
I may be splitting a six-thousandths-of-an-inch hair here, but just wondering why my manuals both say .57mm...
Is it because of aftermarket TPS sensors?
Any other reason?
No doubt it doesn't matter much but...Wondering if other van service manuals call for a different gauge..
At any rate, my air hose is crispy and crumbling and coolant lines are pretty grim, but holding. Thanks much!
All the best~

This was answered on page 3 of Cleaning the Throttle Body!! I tell you I read it many times.
Apologies for my slop.
I'll delete these messages if possible.
