    It can't hurt (though I've had mine out a few times and never needed that). You can use the bolt at the front end of the shaft, or just put a strap wrench around the SADS and turn it a little.

    The point of pulling the upper radiator hose is to try to assure that, as you fill, any air in the system is in that open part, and so will just bubble up into the reservoir when you connect it....
