    1988-1989 code 4-3 Starter signal

I have had code 4-3 since I bought the van. I always thought it had to be an issue with the ECU. Turns out I was wrong, for me it was something super simple. A fuse.

if you ever get this code first check the fuse panel position 20. See image below.

After replacing it, my van has no trouble codes and it feels great! Sometimes the simplest and easiest repairs are the most rewarding.

Thanks JDM, I don’t have a service manual (yet) for my model van. All the repairs I have done were using the pdf 87 service manual and 88-89 diagnostic codes pdf available here on TVT. It is not clear (at least to me) that you should check this fuse if you get the starter signal code. I hope this helps others, like myself, that are not as mechanical inclined.
