Hi & welcome to TVT! When you say the alternator was recently replaced, did this issue start before or after? An amp draw like this is almost certainly a shorted diode inside the alternator. Having "Christmas dash" is also an indication of a failed alternator, so I'd start by disconnecting the alternator & checking to see if the draw goes away.
